Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Ram,
I hope you're doing well. I'm writing to seek your help to find a new job for me.
You might know, I have been working in Paprima Industries for three years. I have gained hands-on experience while working with automated machines and electrical equipment. Now I'm performing same tasks every day and life has become monotonus. Therefore, I decide to come out from my comfort zone and try something new.
I would like to work with PLC programming and Artificial intelligence in my new job. Additionally, it would be great if I could get a chance to visit other countries for commissioning or as a service technician. With that types of job roles, I could enhance interpersonal and professional skills and utilize my previous experience at the same time.
I would appreciate it if you could help me find a job. I'm wondering if you could find any suitable position in your company. If there is any opening positions please forward me the details. I also attached my resume with this email for your reference.
Thanks very much. I look forward to your reply.
Lots of love,
Parminder

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 8.0
The letter covers all three requirements clearly. You explain that three years of repetitive work have made you want a change, describe your interest in PLC programming and artificial intelligence, and ask Ram to look for a suitable opening at his company. The reference to commissioning or service work abroad adds useful detail, while mentioning your attached résumé makes the request practical. These ideas are relevant and well developed for a friendly letter. To make the purpose even more persuasive, you could briefly explain what attracts you specifically to programming or international service work, rather than mainly listing the roles and benefits you hope to gain.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.5
The information follows a clear, effective sequence: you open with the request, explain your reason for leaving, describe the work you want, and then make a specific appeal for help. Paragraphing supports this progression, and linking expressions such as “Therefore” and “Additionally” help connect the ideas. The closing is also appropriate for a friend. Some connections are a little mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “I” at the start of sentences and the transition from the desired job to its benefits. You could vary sentence openings and make that relationship more explicit—for example, explain how international commissioning would use your existing technical experience while developing your skills.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use a suitable range of vocabulary for the topic, including “hands-on experience,” “automated machines,” “PLC programming,” “commissioning,” and “service technician.” These terms make your career interests specific and easy to understand. There are, however, some inaccurate or awkward choices that keep the vocabulary from sounding consistently natural: “monotonus” is misspelled, “come out from my comfort zone” is not the usual collocation, and “with that types of job roles” is awkward. “Artificial intelligence” is clear, though you could specify the area of AI relevant to your work. Check spelling and collocations, and choose more precise phrasing where possible; the intended meaning remains clear throughout.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including “I would appreciate it if you could help me” and the conditional “it would be great if I could get a chance.” Most sentences communicate your meaning clearly, and the paragraphing helps the reader follow the message. Some grammatical errors remain. For example, “You might know” needs a more suitable introductory structure, “I’m performing same tasks” is missing a determiner, and “I decide” should use a past-tense form to match the decision described. The phrase “If there is any opening positions” also has a number-agreement problem. Review articles, verb tense, and singular/plural agreement, while continuing to use conditional and subordinate clauses.
