Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three requested points: you explain that farming has become boring and that you cannot meet expenses, describe your aim of becoming a manager in a multinational company, and ask Mathew to check advertisements and speak to his father. The purpose is clear and the details about utility bills and Punjab make the request specific. However, the reasons for leaving farming are not fully connected, and the kind of role you want is described mainly by its title and location rather than by duties or other preferences. The request for help is more developed than the job description. Adding a little explanation of your experience and the type of management work you could do would make the ideas more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall sequence: an opening, an explanation of your circumstances, a request for assistance, and a closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “Therefore” and “In addition” show how points relate. Some connections are less smooth, however. The opening says you have decided to join a multinational company, while the next paragraph explains that you have decided to do so because of financial pressure; presenting the reason first would make the progression clearer. The sentence beginning “As I know you are working…” also combines several requests, making the relationship between them slightly difficult to follow. Use clearer sentence boundaries and references to make the request easier to process.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the letter and communicates the main ideas, with useful task-related phrases such as “monthly expenses,” “utility bills,” “job advertisement,” and “manager posts.” There are also some inaccurate or unnatural choices that limit precision, including “getting bore,” “made my mind,” and “check on the list.” “Better pay” is understandable but could be expressed more precisely as “a higher salary.” The spelling “manger” also needs correction. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your purpose, but more natural collocations and accurate word forms would make the letter sound more fluent and appropriate for writing to a friend.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple and more developed sentence forms, including the reason-and-result structure in “Therefore, I made my mind last week…” and the request introduced by “In addition.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable. “As I am getting bore in my farming business” is an incomplete sentence, and “please talk to your father he is well aware…” joins two independent clauses without suitable punctuation or a linking word. There are also errors in forms and sentence construction, such as “if you found any job” after “let me know” and “I would be thankful to you” as a closing expression. Check clause boundaries and verb forms, and aim for a wider range of accurately controlled sentences.
