Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three required points: you explain that you were laid off, identify the web and software developer roles you want, and ask Adam to use his industry connections. The reason for changing jobs is relevant, and the request is appropriately polite. The response also meets the stated length requirement. To make the content more fully developed, clarify how the layoff and its effects have shaped your job search; the phrase “improve me no only my health but also my finances” is difficult to interpret. You could also specify what kind of help you want, such as sharing vacancies or recommending you to a contact. These additions would make the purpose and supporting details clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, an explanation of your circumstances, the roles you seek, a request for help, and a closing. Paragraph breaks help the reader follow these stages, and expressions such as “As a result” and “Furthermore” signal relationships between ideas. However, some linking feels mechanical, and the progression within the second paragraph is weakened by the unclear sentence about improving your health and finances. The opening also combines the news and request before the reason has been explained. Use transitions more selectively and make each paragraph develop one clear point; a more specific final request would also create a smoother lead into the closing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “laid off,” “Mobile developer,” “junior-level,” and “IT industry,” so the reader can understand the main topic and your career aims. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “I would be highly grateful.” However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “effected” is not the intended form here, “fid” appears to mean “find,” and “put a word out for me” is not a natural expression for asking someone to recommend you. Some phrases, including “improve me no only,” are difficult to understand. Choose conventional collocations and proofread spelling and word forms to make your meaning more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter includes both simple sentences and more complex forms, such as the clause beginning “Since you already work in the IT industry.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. In “it has immensely effected my physically as well as mental health,” the pronoun and parallel structure are faulty; “my physically” should be recast, and the two effects should be expressed in matching forms. “You already work … and has” also has a subject–verb agreement error, while “I really wanted” shifts into the past despite describing your current aim. Review agreement, tense consistency, and parallel phrasing, and use punctuation consistently around introductory phrases. Greater control of these patterns would make the letter easier to read.
