Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the main points by giving reasons for seeking work, describing a preferred part-time restaurant job, and asking Sarah for help. The details about paying monthly bills, avoiding boredom, working two to three hours at weekends, and wanting a job near Obacran make the request relevant. However, the explanation of why you need a new job is brief, and the request for help is not specific about what Sarah could do, such as asking local employers or sharing vacancies. The letter is also five words below the required minimum, so the response is slightly underdeveloped. Expand the reasons and make the requested assistance clearer to cover the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening, a paragraph describing the job and your reasons, and a final request and thanks. This helps the reader follow the basic purpose. However, progression is limited, and the ideas within the middle paragraph are crowded together. Connectors such as “Secondly” are used, but the relationship between ideas is not always smooth; for example, the shift from paying bills to avoiding weekend boredom could be explained more clearly. The final paragraph repeats the request without adding a concrete next step. Use clearer paragraphing and link each reason to the job you want, then end with a specific request to Sarah.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main message, including “part time job,” “monthly bills,” and “weekend boredom.” Some wording is imprecise or unnatural, however, and this sometimes makes the reader pause. “Waiting tablee jobs” is not the usual expression, while “obacran axis” and “popularity, nature of your person” are unclear in this context. There are also spelling and form errors, including “tablee” and “wih.” Aim for more accurate, natural phrases suited to an informal letter, such as “a job waiting tables,” “in the Obacran area,” and “you know many people locally.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes simple sentences and some attempts to join ideas, for example, “I really need this job so that it will aid me in sorting my monthly bills.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect smooth reading. Examples include “assist me finding” (the verb pattern needs “assist me in finding”), “I will like” instead of “I would like,” and “a restaurants,” where the article and plural do not agree. Capitalisation is also inconsistent in “sarah” and “i.” Practise accurate verb patterns, articles, and agreement, and use a few varied sentence structures while checking punctuation and capital letters.
