Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you explain that you are unemployed after graduating and need to meet your responsibilities, identify banking as your preferred field, and ask your friend to look for opportunities. The reason for seeking work is relevant, and mentioning your economics degree helps explain your choice. However, the type of job is only briefly described; you could add what role or working conditions you want. The request also focuses on your friend’s ability to secure a job, rather than specifying how they could help, such as sharing vacancies or recommending you. These details make the response purposeful, while fuller development and a more specific request would strengthen it further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a generally clear progression: it explains your circumstances and preferred career, makes a request, and closes with an expectation of a reply. Paragraphing separates the main explanation from the request, which helps the reader follow the purpose. Some links between ideas are less smooth, particularly in the long opening sentence, where your graduation, responsibilities, goals, and daily needs are joined together. The request paragraph also repeats the idea of finding a job without clearly distinguishing what you want your friend to do. Use shorter sentences and clearer transitions, and make the request its own focused point, to make the organisation more consistently easy to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main message, including relevant terms such as “graduation,” “responsibility,” “banker,” and “certificate.” However, several spelling errors and unnatural word combinations reduce precision, for example “later” for “letter,” “tangible activities,” “work more conveniently,” and “more easier.” Some expressions are also vague or informal for this context, such as “sitting idle at home.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this would make your meaning clearer and show more control of vocabulary. The range is adequate for the task, but errors in word choice and form are noticeable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and extended sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand your reasons and request. However, some sentences contain several grammatical problems, especially the opening sentence: “after my graduation last year, i have been sitting idle at home” needs more accurate capitalisation and tense control, while “i have a lots of responsibility” has an article and plural error. There are also issues with agreement and sentence construction in “because that go in line with my certificate.” Capitalise “I” and proper nouns, and divide long sentences into shorter units. More accurate control of these patterns, alongside your attempts at complex sentences, would improve clarity.
