Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you explain that you have completed a childcare course and want better prospects and permanent residence, describe work with children, and ask Jot to alert you to vacancies. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. The explanation of the kind of job is less fully developed, however: you focus on improving your skills but do not specify the role, setting, or working conditions you prefer. The request also shifts to offering reduced-fee care to parents, which is not clearly connected to finding employment. To strengthen the response, explain more directly what position you want and how your friend could help you obtain it, while extending the reasons for changing jobs or seeking work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a generally sensible order: it introduces your news, gives reasons for seeking work, describes your interest in childcare, and makes a request. The paragraph break helps separate the opening from the main message. However, some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the move from asking about a vacancy to offering lower-cost care to parents makes the request harder to follow, and the opening sentence combines several points without clear boundaries. The closing phrases are also abrupt. Use separate sentences and paragraphs for your reasons, preferred role, and request, and connect each point explicitly. This would make the progression smoother and reduce the impression of ideas being joined mechanically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “day care,” “permanent residence,” “position,” and “parents,” so the reader can understand the general subject and your intentions. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as improving your understanding of children. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “tackel,” “childern,” “alredy,” and “assit,” and some phrases are not natural in this context, such as “for my better future” and “if any position is left.” These inaccuracies sometimes make the message less clear or polished. Build accuracy with common childcare and employment collocations, and proofread spelling and word forms before sending the letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to combine ideas using clauses, for example when explaining that your friend already works in a daycare and might know of a vacancy. However, sentence structures are limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur often enough to affect clarity. Examples include “I recently complete my day care course,” “this is also help for me,” and “it help me”; these need correctly formed verbs and agreement. The opening also begins “hope” without a subject, while several sentences run together after full stops or use lowercase “i.” Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, then practise accurate complex sentences with “because” and “so.” Careful editing for sentence boundaries and verb forms will improve control.
