Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Kamal,
I hope you're doing well. It's been long time since we catch up. I'm writing this to ask for your help in finding new job.
I've been working as a Physiotherapy Assistant for last two years,As you know this job demands a lot of physical work and mental work. I can't do anything else after reaching home at the end of the day. Eventhough I like my job, I can't continue doing this work for a long time because of my health.
I'm in search of the job that can provide me flexibility of working from home. So that I can save time on travelling as well as it gives me a chance to focus on my health.
Since you working in such setup you would be the right person to hep me finding this job. I would be grateful if you could suggest me with any position at your company. Please let me know, if you are known to any recruitment agency.
I was wondering, if you have time this weekend let's catch up. let me know on this as soon as possible so I'll plan accordingly.
Best regards,
Margee

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
You address all three points clearly: you explain that your physiotherapy assistant role is physically and mentally demanding and affects your health, describe wanting flexible work from home, and ask Kamal about openings at his company and recruitment agencies. The reason for changing jobs is supported with a personal detail—being unable to do anything after work—which makes the request convincing. Your purpose and friendly tone remain clear throughout. To make the ideas more fully developed, specify what kind of work or role you hope to move into, rather than describing only the working arrangement. You could also make the request more focused by saying what experience or skills you could offer a potential employer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: a friendly opening, an explanation of your current situation, your preferred working arrangement, and a direct request for help. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and phrases such as “As you know” and “Since you…” connect your circumstances to the request. The closing invitation to meet is appropriate for a friend. Some links are less smooth: “So that I can save time…” is separated from the sentence it explains, and the final paragraph shifts quickly from asking for job leads to arranging a catch-up. Connect these ideas more naturally and use punctuation consistently, including the lowercase “let” after a full stop, to make the flow more polished.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the letter and communicates the main points, with useful expressions such as “flexibility of working from home,” “focus on my health,” and “recruitment agency.” The tone is generally suitable for writing to a friend. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “help me finding this job,” “suggest me with any position,” and “known to any recruitment agency.” These do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim to learn common word partnerships for requests and job searches, and choose more specific language for the type of role you want. Check spelling as well: “hep” should be “help.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the explanation beginning “Even though I like my job” and the conditional request “I would be grateful if you could…”. Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. Examples include “It's been long time” (missing an article), “since we catch up” (tense), “for last two years” (article/preposition pattern), and “Since you working” (missing an auxiliary verb). The sentence beginning “So that I can save time” is also a fragment, and the final invitation needs clearer sentence structure. Review articles, verb forms after “since,” and complete sentence construction to improve accuracy while retaining your varied structures.
