Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the noise, explaining the impact on your life, and suggesting a solution. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally unclear due to language errors. For instance, the explanation of why the noise is a problem is repetitive and slightly confusing. While the purpose of the letter is clear, the tone is inconsistent; it shifts between being polite and sounding slightly accusatory. To improve, ensure that your ideas are fully explained with more precise language, and maintain a consistently professional yet friendly tone throughout the correspondence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'By means of' is used incorrectly to introduce a suggestion, and the transition 'Thus' is used in a way that does not logically connect the preceding sentence to the next. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when referring to the noise. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary range is limited and there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'Ned' (need), 'hasband' (husband), 'feom' (from), 'notice' (noise), and 'gyus' (guys). The phrase 'I feel anger on my kids' is unnatural; a more appropriate expression would be 'I feel irritable with my children'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic message, the frequent errors and lack of precision in word choice prevent a higher score. Focusing on spelling and learning common collocations will help you express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a limited range of grammatical structures, and the text contains frequent errors in sentence construction, verb tense, and word order. For example, 'you gyus are having walk and run' is grammatically incorrect and should be 'you are walking and running'. Additionally, 'my sleep affect my every day life' lacks the necessary subject-verb agreement ('affects'). Many sentences are fragmented or poorly structured, which makes the text difficult to read at times. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns, subject-verb agreement, and correct verb forms before attempting more complex structures.
