Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the noise, explaining the problem, and suggesting a solution. However, the tone is inconsistent and often inappropriate for a letter to a neighbour. Phrases like 'contribute to the overall efficiency and well-being of the operations' and 'increase the chances of success' are overly formal, bureaucratic, and unnatural in this context. This suggests a misunderstanding of the required register for a personal letter. While the task requirements are met, the development of ideas is hampered by this formal, almost robotic language, which makes the letter sound less like a genuine request and more like a corporate report.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is short and lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for a structured response. While there is a logical progression from the problem to the suggested solution, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical. For example, the repeated use of 'Also' at the start of sentences makes the flow feel repetitive and simplistic. The transition between the description of the noise and the suggested solutions is abrupt. To improve, you should use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus, such as one for the problem and one for the proposed solution.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is limited and often misused due to the inappropriate register. Using business-oriented terms like 'efficiency', 'well-being of the operations', and 'effectiveness' in a letter to a neighbour is a significant lexical error. These words do not fit the context of a residential noise complaint. While the meaning is generally clear, the choice of words is not natural or precise for the task. You should focus on using more conversational and direct language suitable for a personal letter, such as 'disturbing', 'inconsiderate', or 'peace and quiet'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For instance, 'How are you.' should end with a question mark. 'I am facing this issues' contains a pluralization error ('this' should be 'these'). 'I am looking forward to hear from you' is incorrect; it should be 'looking forward to hearing from you'. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and the attempts at more complex sentences are often awkward or grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors and the lack of varied, accurate sentence structures limit the score.
