Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the noise, explaining the impact, and suggesting a solution. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a neighbour, although it leans slightly towards being overly formal in some places and informal in others. The ideas are relevant, though the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the impact on your studies. To improve, ensure that the explanation of why it is a problem is distinct from the description of the noise itself. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements of the task are fully met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'secondly', which assist in the flow of the text. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the connection between sentences could be smoother. For example, the shift from describing the noise to the impact on your health is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would help elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message effectively. Phrases like 'noise pollution', 'disturbs me', and 'concentration' are appropriate for the context. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'voice of songs' (should be 'loud music') and 'distract myself' (should be 'distracts me'). Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'escepcilly' and 'acedemics'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring precise word choice, while also paying closer attention to spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'alongside with full time worker' (should be 'a full-time worker'), 'which is good for my health' (which contradicts your point, as you likely meant 'bad'), and missing articles. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage also need attention. To improve, try to proofread your work specifically for small grammatical slips and ensure that your sentence structures are varied and accurately punctuated. Focusing on these foundational elements will significantly improve your clarity.
