Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the noise, explaining the impact on your rest, and suggesting a solution. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited by the language used. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a neighbour, though it fluctuates between formal and informal. To improve, ensure that the explanation of the problem is more clearly articulated, as the current phrasing regarding your work schedule and the noise source is slightly repetitive and difficult to follow in places.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between the description of the problem and the proposed solution is abrupt. There is a reliance on simple sentence structures, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by grammatical errors, making some parts of the message feel disjointed. Using a wider range of linking words would improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, such as the repeated use of 'problem' and 'duty'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or spelling, such as 'seduled' (scheduled), 'exited' (excited), and 'saoon' (soon). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the frequent spelling errors limit the range of vocabulary. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more varied and accurate vocabulary to describe your daily routine and the nature of the noise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There is a limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There are frequent errors in sentence construction, verb tense, and word order, such as 'frequently bothered by noise by your side' and 'when I came home try to littel bit take rest'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and ensuring subject-verb agreement, as well as reducing the frequency of errors in basic grammar.
