Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points: the situation is described, the impact on your work is explained, and a clear solution is proposed. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a neighbour, maintaining a balance between being firm and polite. However, the development of ideas is slightly hindered by grammatical inaccuracies, which occasionally make the flow of information less precise. For instance, the explanation of your work schedule is a bit convoluted. To reach a higher band, ensure that the connection between your job requirements and the noise disturbance is articulated more clearly and concisely.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However' and 'Apart from this', to transition between ideas. However, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'I really appreciate this from you', where the antecedent is ambiguous. Additionally, some sentences are linked in a way that feels slightly mechanical. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to previously mentioned nouns would enhance the overall flow and coherence of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'frequently bothered', 'noise cancellation', and 'utmost blessing'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'highligh frequently bothered noise' (should be 'highlight the frequent noise') and 'during a day time' (should be 'during the daytime'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over common collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural phrases for making requests would help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('as you lives', 'my job start'), article usage ('on 6th floor', 'during a day time'), and tense consistency ('As we discuess'). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy of your writing. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article placement, as these are foundational elements that currently detract from your performance.
