Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response successfully covers all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You clearly described the situation regarding the late-night music, explained why it is a problem by mentioning your early work schedule and your sister's school timings, and suggested a concrete solution involving turning down the volume before 9 PM. The tone is mostly appropriate for a semi-formal letter to a neighbour, and all parts of the prompt are addressed well. Ideas are sufficiently developed and relevant to the context, earning a solid Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a clear logical organization with paragraph breaks used to separate the introduction, the problem, the reasons, and the proposed solution. You used some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'secondly', and 'finally' to structure the response, although some mechanical usage and referencing errors are present. The flow between sentences is generally coherent, but paragraphing and transitions could be smoother and more natural to achieve a higher band. Overall, the arrangement is coherent and easy to follow, fitting the Band 6 descriptor well.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting words related to daily life and routine such as 'appartment', 'distrub', and 'schedule'. However, there are several noticeable spelling errors ('taht', 'appartment', 'distrubs', 'Thankyou') and some awkward word choices ('i create various problems for me'). While these errors do not impede overall communication, they restrict the lexical score. Using more precise collocation and checking your spelling would elevate your score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writing includes a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I am writing regarding the noise that came from your apartment daily and disturbed me a lot.' However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors, including missing capitalisation ('i', 'mr. and mrs'), tense inconsistencies ('noise that came' instead of 'comes'), and run-on sentences joined by commas instead of proper conjunctions. While communication is not severely impeded, the frequency of basic errors keeps the grammar score at Band 5.5.
