Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The candidate successfully covers all bullet points required by the task prompt. The situation is clearly described in the opening paragraphs ("loud noises that usually created by you"), the personal impact is explained ("find it very difficult to sleep in night because you guys listen music songs on loud sound"), and a practical solution is suggested regarding the top-floor activity room. The tone is mostly appropriate for a semi-formal letter to a neighbour, although it slips slightly into overly blunt phrasing in places. All parts of the prompt are addressed, and the ideas are extended sufficiently to meet the requirements of the task. Therefore, a solid band score is warranted for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable beginning, middle, and end, following a standard letter format. However, paragraphing and referencing are sometimes faulty. The transition phrase "Explain further, As you know..." is awkward and ungrammatical as a cohesive device. Furthermore, referencing pronouns such as "it" and "that" are occasionally confusing, as seen in the sentence about the top-floor activity room ("that the whole floor is un-occupied"). Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or misused. Paragraphs are grouped reasonably by topic, but the internal logical progression within the second paragraph is cluttered with run-on phrasing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it shows significant limitations and awkward collocations. Examples of unnatural word choice include "listen music songs on loud sound", "gett ready", and "quality of sleep in night". The candidate attempts some less common vocabulary, such as "un-occupied", but spelling and word-formation errors are present (e.g., "difficlty"). While communication is not severely impeded and the meaning remains clear throughout, the lexical range is restricted and repetitive, placing this response firmly in the band 5 range for vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak. There are frequent errors in verb tense and voice, such as "noises that usually created by you" (missing auxiliary verb) and "you will be think". Punctuation is also problematic, notably with comma splices connecting independent clauses into long, run-on sentences like the second paragraph. Other errors include missing articles ("on upper floor") and prepositions. While some simpler sentences are accurate, the high frequency of grammatical errors in complex structures causes noticeable difficulty for the reader and prevents the response from achieving a higher score.
