Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the main purpose by describing repeated loud music and a dog barking, explaining that you work long hours and feel tired, and asking Mandy to reduce the volume. These details make the complaint relevant and give the reader some context. However, the solution is not consistently clear or tactful: “change your apartment” is an extreme suggestion, while “talk claimly with your colleuges” does not clearly explain what action you want. The request about quiet at night and in the morning is more practical, but could be stated as the main solution. Develop the impact more clearly and make one or two specific, reasonable requests to cover the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter follows a broadly understandable order: it introduces the noise, explains its effect on you, and then makes requests. Connectors such as “moreover” and “furthermore” signal that you are adding information. However, the response is presented as one long block, so the stages of the letter are not easy to distinguish. Some links are also mechanical or unclear, particularly “apart from this” and “so,” and the sequence in “your dog start shouting on me and than you playing songs” is difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the situation, its impact, and your proposed solution. Shorter sentences and clearer references to who is making each noise would improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic complaint, including “high volume,” “music,” “dog,” and “uncomfortable.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the letter difficult to understand. Examples include “unnessessery,” “futhermore,” “tried” where you mean tired, and “noise cancellation” for sound insulation. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “your dog start shouting on me” and “talk claimly with your colleuges.” These errors fit a limited but minimally adequate range, with noticeable inaccuracies that sometimes strain communication. Practise common collocations for neighbour complaints and check spelling; more precise phrases such as “loud music” and “barking” would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and time expressions, for example, “whenever I reached my home” and “because walls are not noise cancellation.” However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, which sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For instance, “your dog start shouting” needs subject–verb agreement, while “you playing songs” is missing a finite verb. The opening “I am writing this letter to regarding” also has an incorrect grammatical pattern. Most sentences rely on basic structures, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty. Build accuracy with simple complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, and use full stops to separate ideas.
