Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main situation—noise from the neighbour’s apartment—and explain that it disrupts work calls and sometimes affects your sleep. You also make a request for cooperation and indicate that you may escalate the matter. However, the response only partially fulfils the task: the solution is vague, and the letter does not specify what changes you would like, such as keeping noise down during certain hours. The reasons are mentioned but not developed with clear examples. The response is also 32 words below the required minimum, which limits how fully you can explain the problem and propose a practical solution. Add detail and make the requested action clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable opening, body and closing, and its ideas broadly follow the task’s order: noise, its effects, then a request. However, progression is not consistently clear. The phrase “continue to this” does not connect the preceding point naturally, and the long sentence beginning “it could be a challenge” combines work, sleep and a request without clear separation. The response also moves abruptly from a polite greeting to “or else this matter needs to be escalated further.” Use separate paragraphs for the situation, its impact and your proposed solution, and connect them with straightforward transitions such as “As a result” and “Could we agree on…?”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough relevant vocabulary to communicate the basic issue, including “work from home,” “during the calls,” “sleeping” and “cooperate.” However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, which can make the reader pause. For example, “expecting a silence from the background” is not a natural way to describe needing a quiet environment, while “strange voices” does not clearly explain the noise. There are also spelling errors such as “eccuracy,” and “effects” is used where the intended verb is “affects.” Aim for precise, natural phrases such as “background noise,” “disturb my sleep” and “affect my concentration.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on simple statements and attempts a few longer structures, but these longer sentences are often faulty, so the range is limited. For example, “As you know that i am associated with an organization that demands work from home and expecting a silence…” has an awkward clause structure and does not maintain a clear grammatical pattern. In “it could be a challenge for me to work in such condition,” the sentence is not clearly linked to the previous one, and the singular noun needs an article. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and the run-on ending “work.and i request.” Use shorter, complete sentences and check clause structure, articles and sentence boundaries.
