Dear alex,
I hope you are doing great in your life. I'm atul your neighbour i am living in just downstairs apartment. I want to share my problem with you that is the music noise which is coming from your studio. I have small kids in my House, studying in 5th grade and in these days they are struggling with their studies. Meanwhile, they are also facing sleep disorder, which is directly puting effects on their skills.
The biggest problem is that the bass from your speaker hits directly into our mind which leds to headache. It is my humble request to you please don't play the music after 6 pm because i also came home from office to have some rest and my children can aslo focus on their studies as there exams are coming in couple months. Please don't mind it i am like your small or big brother.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points: you describe music and bass coming from the upstairs apartment, explain that it affects your children’s studying and sleep and gives you headaches, and request that the neighbour avoid playing music after 6 pm. The purpose is clear, and the personal details make the complaint relevant. The request is also softened with a friendly tone, which suits a neighbourly letter. To make the ideas more fully developed, explain the noise pattern more specifically—for example, how often or at what times it occurs—and make the proposed solution more flexible, such as asking for lower volume in the evening rather than a complete restriction after 6 pm. A more conventional greeting and sign-off would also strengthen the letter’s presentation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a generally sensible order: it introduces the problem, describes its effects, and then makes a request. This gives the reader a coherent overall understanding. However, the ideas are crowded into two long paragraphs, and links such as “Meanwhile” and “The biggest problem” do not always show the relationship between points precisely. The shift from the children’s difficulties to the effect of the bass on you could be signposted more clearly, and the request would benefit from its own paragraph. Some references, such as “which” in the sentence about sleep disorder and skills, are unclear. Use shorter, clearly separated paragraphs and more precise links to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main complaint, including “bass,” “speaker,” “headache,” and “focus on their studies.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations sound unnatural, which can make parts of the message harder to interpret. For example, “music noise” is less natural than “loud music,” and “hits directly into our mind” does not clearly express the physical impact of the bass. “Sleep disorder” is also too strong or imprecise for describing a neighbour’s noise. Spelling errors such as “puting,” “leds,” and “aslo” further affect accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentences, particularly when explaining how the noise affects your family and why you are making the request. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “I'm atul your neighbour i am living in just downstairs apartment” joins several clauses without appropriate punctuation and has missing articles. In “It is my humble request to you please don't play,” the request needs a clearer grammatical structure, such as “I would kindly ask you not to play.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and “your friend.” Practise accurate sentence boundaries, articles, and complete request structures.
