Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three required points: you describe evening noise over several days, explain that it disrupts yoga, meditation and studying, and ask your neighbour to reduce the volume or change the time of the music. The purpose and polite, concerned position remain clear throughout. The examples of shouting and loud music make the situation specific, while the effects on your routine explain why it matters. To strengthen the response further, make the proposed arrangement more precise—for example, suggest quiet hours or ask whether the music could be kept low after a particular time. This would extend the solution rather than leaving it as a general request.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall progression: it introduces the noise, explains its impact, proposes a solution and closes politely. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these stages, and phrases such as “I would like to explain” and “I would also appreciate it” signal the purpose of each section. This is a coherent structure, though some links feel repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated references to “the three days” and “evening.” The sentence beginning “However” also shifts to the effects without a particularly smooth connection to the preceding paragraph. Use clearer referencing and vary transitions so the ideas connect more naturally, while retaining the effective paragraphing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main issue and its effects, including “shouting,” “unpleasant,” “disturbing” and “unbearable.” The tone is generally appropriate for a polite neighbourly request. However, several noticeable spelling and word-choice or collocation errors reduce precision: “writting,” “base music,” “high pitch sounds,” and “bring your attention about” are not natural or accurate choices in this context. Some phrases, such as “high volume” and “change your time for music,” are also vague. Build a more reliable range of natural expressions for noise complaints, such as “loud bass-heavy music,” “draw your attention to,” and “adjust the time you play music.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, such as “I would also appreciate it if you could change your time for music.” The reader can generally understand the message, but errors occur across sentence patterns and reduce accuracy. For example, “I am unable to do my yoga and concentration to meditation” does not form a parallel grammatical structure, and “I often do study” uses an incorrect verb pattern. There are also problems with articles and possessives in “from you apartment” and “your an apartment,” as well as punctuation where sentences run together. Practise accurate verb patterns and sentence boundaries, then proofread articles and possessives.
