Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you explain that noise comes from the upstairs apartment, say it disrupts your studying and could affect your course, and propose that the neighbour take the family to the park during your study time. The purpose is clear and the tone is generally considerate, especially in “Sorry to bother you.” Some ideas are less fully developed: the nature or timing of the noise is not specified, and the request to go to the park may seem demanding rather than offering a practical compromise. Explain what kind of noise is disturbing you and suggest alternatives, such as keeping noise down in the evening or agreeing on quiet hours. This would make the request more persuasive and fully tailored to the problem.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter follows a broadly sensible order: it introduces the problem, explains its effect on your studies, and then offers a solution. This makes the main message understandable. However, the progression is weakened by abrupt transitions and unclear links between ideas. For example, “I have a solution for that if at that time you can go part for having your great time with your family” is difficult to follow, and the discussion of children making friends and benefiting physically distracts from the central request. Paragraphing is also limited, while “Actually,” “As a result,” and “So” do not always create smooth connections. Use separate paragraphs for the problem, its impact, and the request, and connect each point directly to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough everyday vocabulary to communicate the main issue, including “noise,” “studying,” “course,” and “solution.” The polite expressions also suit a neighbour letter. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the message less fluent, such as “favour,” “troble,” “sloution,” and “intreption.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “go part” and “having your great time” do not clearly express the intended suggestion. Choose familiar but accurate expressions, such as “spend time at the park” or “the noise is disturbing my concentration.” Proofreading spelling and selecting more natural collocations would make your meaning easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including “As a result I could fail my course” and the sentence beginning “This would not only help them…”. The reader can generally identify your meaning, but errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “While studying, I experiencing trouble” needs a finite verb, and “I usually studying in the evening” needs a correctly formed present-tense verb. The long sentence beginning “I have a solution” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise complete clauses, consistent present-tense forms, and punctuation between ideas. For instance, “I usually study in the evening, so could you please keep the noise down during those hours?” is clearer and more controlled.
