Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter covers all three bullet points: describing the item, explaining its importance, and requesting action. However, the tone is inconsistent and somewhat aggressive for a letter to a friend. The request for the friend to 'give my happiness back' and the accusatory question 'What was you doing on that time' are inappropriate for the context. While the task is addressed, the development of ideas is limited by the informal, slightly confrontational tone, which detracts from the communicative purpose of the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is disjointed. The transition between describing the item and asking the friend to fix it is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'So' and 'And' to start sentences. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when referring to the 'picture' versus the 'gift'. The overall progression of ideas is present but lacks the smooth transitions required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'broke down' are used incorrectly to describe a physical object (a better choice would be 'broken' or 'damaged'). There is an attempt to use descriptive language ('enhance the beauty', 'valuable possession'), but the overall range is limited. Word choice errors, such as 'hope so are you doing well' and 'knowledge about please help me', occasionally impede the clarity of the message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('What was you doing'), tense usage ('its broke down'), and sentence structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic structures prevents the text from reaching a higher band. The range of structures is limited to simple and compound sentences, with little evidence of complex grammatical forms.
