Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the item, explaining its importance, and stating the desired action. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The tone is somewhat aggressive and lacks the appropriate social nuance expected in a letter to a friend, which affects the overall communicative quality. To improve, you should expand on the description of the item and soften the language regarding the request for money to better reflect a friendly relationship, even when addressing a serious issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on one of the bullet points. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Besides this', and 'Additionally' to connect ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could be improved by using more varied linking phrases to create a smoother progression between sentences. The paragraphing is appropriate for a letter format, which helps the reader follow your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'mishandling', 'valuable', and 'prompt response'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'tensed' (should be 'upset' or 'distressed'), 'broken with very badly way' (should be 'badly damaged'), and 'levying money' (should be 'asking for compensation'). These errors occasionally impede the natural flow of the text. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise adjectives and idiomatic expressions would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'wires are comes out' (should be 'wires are coming out') and 'this is gifted by my grandmother' (should be 'this was gifted'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence fragments, such as 'As soon as possible.' at the end of a paragraph. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors indicates a need for more careful proofreading and practice with verb tenses and passive voice constructions.
