Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing the broken item, explaining its importance, and requesting a specific action from your friend. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, though it leans slightly towards being accusatory. To improve, ensure that the explanation of the 'broken possession' is more descriptive. While you mentioned it was a coffee cup, adding more detail about its appearance or material would have strengthened the response. The request for the friend to replace the item is clear and well-integrated into the letter's purpose.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a distinct purpose. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'However', and 'As you know', which help the flow of ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the connection between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the description of the mess and the broken cup is slightly abrupt. Improving the use of referencing (e.g., ensuring pronouns clearly refer back to the correct nouns) would help the text feel more cohesive and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You use some relevant phrases like 'precious moment' and 'unexpected'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'heart broken' (should be 'heartbreaking'), 'alive my favorite memories' (should be 'relive'), and 'on my daily basis' (should be 'on a daily basis'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more idiomatic expressions or precise adjectives would enhance your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For instance, 'As you know that you lived' is awkward; 'when reached at home' is missing a subject; and 'I didn't expect from you' is incomplete. There are also issues with article usage and preposition placement. While these errors rarely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and sentence completion will help improve your accuracy.
