Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the task: describing the broken item, explaining its importance, and stating the desired action. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a friend, although it leans slightly formal. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. However, the development of the 'importance' section could be more personal; while you mention the cost and features, explaining why the item is personally significant would have strengthened the response. Overall, the task requirements are fully met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate the description of the item from the request for action. Cohesive devices such as 'Additionally' and 'So' are used to link ideas, although the transition between the description of the TV and the request for repair is slightly abrupt. The flow of information is easy to follow, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the outset.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'limited edition', 'delivery charges', and 'arduous task'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'wrting', 'gaint', 'telivision', 'techinican', and 'itis'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and more precise collocations, such as using 'a couple of days' instead of 'couple of days'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'when I went on my business meeting... you stayed in my house for couple of days' (missing articles and awkward phrasing) and 'all the expenses which required to fix this' (missing 'are'). While these errors are frequent, they do not prevent the reader from understanding the message. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement would improve the score.
