Dear Arun,
Hope you are doing well, My trip to china for ten days was went so amazing and I returned to home today and I hope your stay to my apartment was even good while I was on trip as you just left for your city one day before i came to Delhi.
I want to let you know that when I came back home i have seen that the screen of my laptop that I use for my office work was broken, I remember that you asked me to use my laptop along with your stay at my place. This laptop is very precious to me as I was gifted by my father he brought that laptop from Italy and gave it to me when he came back to India after five years.I Have no idea how the screen broken even you did not told anything about it to me.
I do not want to blame you for that but one thing you can do, you have one friend who has a laptop repair shop i will go over there and you call him to fix that laptop on urgent need as my office work depends upon that device.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Yuvraj

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing the broken laptop, explaining its sentimental value, and requesting a solution. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a friend, though it leans slightly towards being overly formal in some areas. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, covering the requirements well. To reach a higher band, ensure that the narrative flow between the discovery of the damage and the request for help is more seamless. Overall, the task is fully addressed with clear communication of your intent.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your message. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat limited and occasionally mechanical. For example, the transition between the trip description and the laptop issue is abrupt. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'as'. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in light of this' to connect your ideas more fluidly. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the sentences could be more cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some specific terms like 'precious' and 'urgent need', which are appropriate. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'was went so amazing' and 'along with your stay'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the range of vocabulary. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, particularly regarding verb tenses and sentence structure. For instance, 'was went so amazing' is incorrect, and 'even you did not told' should be 'even though you did not tell'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your tenses remain consistent throughout the narrative. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms will significantly improve your score.
