Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you identify the broken flower vase, explain that your mother gave it to you and that it holds memories, and ask Hitesh to replace it with a new vase and flowers. These details make the letter relevant and your request is clear. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, “exotic white and blue color” gives a basic description, but you could explain its design or value more precisely. The importance is also stated briefly; adding a specific memory or explaining why the gift matters would make this more convincing. The opening focuses on the party and your friend’s promise, so a more direct, tactful explanation of the damage would strengthen the letter’s purpose and tone.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The ideas follow a generally understandable order: you refer to your friend’s stay, describe what you found, explain the vase’s significance, and make a request. Linking phrases such as “As you know,” “Even though,” and “Now” help show relationships between ideas. However, nearly all the information is presented in one long paragraph, which makes the progression harder to follow. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the shift from the vase being broken to the flowers being destroyed. Use separate paragraphs for the background and damage, the personal importance, and your request. Shorter sentences and clearer references would make the letter easier to read without relying on a sequence of loosely connected details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “flower vase,” “gifted,” “memories,” and “take care of my property,” so the reader can understand the main message. There is also an attempt to add descriptive detail with “exotic white and blue color.” However, several word choices, spelling errors, and informal forms reduce precision and make the letter less natural. For example, “particala” is difficult to interpret, and “u” is too informal for this letter. Phrases such as “that flower vase very close to my heart” also need more natural wording. Aim for accurate, conventional expressions and check spelling; this will help you communicate the emotional importance and the requested action more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “Even though … but” and the explanation beginning “as it was gifted to me.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors make parts of the letter awkward or unclear. For example, “that flower vase very close to my heart” is missing a verb, and “you still insist me” has an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence beginning “Even though” also uses “but” unnecessarily, while “my i am” shows problems with sentence boundaries and capitalization. Review verb forms and patterns, include the necessary verbs, and divide long sentences into shorter units. More accurate control of these structures would make your message smoother.
