Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points: describing the problem, suggesting a solution, and requesting a visit. However, the letter is under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of your ideas. While the purpose of the letter is clear, the brevity prevents you from fully expanding on the impact of the leak or providing more professional context. To improve, ensure you elaborate on the consequences of the issue and provide more specific details to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical structure, moving from the problem to the proposed solution and the request for a visit. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Additionally' and 'However' to link your ideas. However, the paragraphing is somewhat disjointed, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Some transitions feel slightly mechanical. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus, which will help the reader follow your argument more effortlessly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate the problem clearly. You use some relevant terms such as 'leaking', 'plumber', and 'valuables'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'that can be damaged all the furniture' (should be 'damage') and 'on the daily basis' (should be 'on a daily basis'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also help convey the urgency of the situation more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'may need of repairs' (should be 'may need repairs'), 'from the last two years' (should be 'for the last two years'), and 'I look forward your response' (should be 'I look forward to your response'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, pay closer attention to preposition usage and verb patterns. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences will significantly boost your score.
