Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the problem, suggesting a solution, and requesting a visit. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which limits the development of ideas. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, but the brevity prevents a fully professional or detailed explanation of the situation. To improve, you should expand on the impact of the electricity issue and provide more specific details about when you are available for a visit, ensuring you meet the word count requirement to fully develop your response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition 'Moreover' is used, but the flow between sentences is often choppy due to grammatical errors. The logical progression is present, but the lack of sufficient length makes the overall structure feel underdeveloped. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences connect more naturally to create a smoother flow of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which restricts your ability to convey the urgency of the situation effectively. Phrases like 'electricity issue' and 'many problems' are functional but lack the precision expected at higher bands. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'ask to electrician' instead of 'ask an electrician'. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more specific vocabulary related to maintenance and household issues, such as 'faulty wiring', 'intermittent power supply', or 'urgent repair'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb forms ('I am writing to notifying you'), subject-verb agreement ('cooking require electricity'), and sentence structure ('why the electricity not properly reach'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally make the meaning slightly harder to follow. While you attempt some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar limits the clarity of your message. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb tense usage will significantly improve your writing accuracy.
