Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the problem, suggesting a solution, and requesting a visit. However, the development of these points is limited. The explanation regarding the neighbor's involvement is somewhat confusing and lacks clarity. Furthermore, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. To improve, you should expand on the nature of the leak and provide more specific details about the impact it is having on your living conditions to ensure the letter is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. The transition between describing the problem and mentioning the neighbor is abrupt. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'but' and 'because', the overall flow is hindered by the lack of more sophisticated linking words or phrases. To improve, try to use a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows logically into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to convey the urgency of the situation effectively. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'I want to did many things' and 'make and repair this thing'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to maintenance and housing, such as 'seepage', 'structural damage', or 'professional inspection', rather than relying on simple verbs like 'do' or 'make'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('problem which need to be repair', 'He do not give response') and incorrect verb forms ('I want to did', 'allowe me to repaired'). While the message is generally understandable, these errors are persistent and distract the reader. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and then attempt to incorporate more complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring subject-verb agreement is maintained.
