You have a problem in your apartment that needs repairs.

Write a letter to the building manager. In your letter

Dear Sir,

I am writing to bring to our notice about the logging of water my bathroom. My apartment is the rear flat at the 5th floor and the faulty bathroom is that of the master's bedroom. This problem was noticed about a week ago and started with the seepage of water from the floor tiles and wall edges. Currently, the bathroom is flooded to ankle level and it's barely dried even after scooping the water manually. This is particularly distressing to my wife and I because we now use the visitor's convenience in the sitting room which is not right.

I am suggesting that the district plumber come for inspection of the fittings and drainage systems and identify the problem as soon as possible. Furthermore, emptying of the soak away pit could be an important step to addressing this challenge. I suppose the built up pressure in the pit could cause this backward flow.

At your own spare time, having a tour of my apartment would make a significant difference in see other maintenances that needs to be done.
