Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: describing the problem, suggesting a solution, and requesting a visit. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a building manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the wardrobe is broken, providing more specific details about the damage or the impact on your daily routine would have strengthened the response. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the reader understands exactly what you need. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with a little more descriptive detail to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on a specific aspect of the request. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'I think', 'I would like to', and 'I look forward to' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. The transition between the description of the problem and the proposed solution could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words or phrases (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'given the circumstances') would help improve the overall cohesion and make the letter read more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate the problem clearly. You use relevant terms like 'shattered', 'cracked', and 'misplaced'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'faced the problem' instead of 'encountered a problem' and 'kept my clothes' instead of 'store my clothes'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to household repairs and furniture. The current range is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher scores.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. For example, 'I am writing to express the problem that I faced in my apartment needs to be fixed' is grammatically awkward; it should be 'I am writing to report a problem in my apartment that needs to be fixed.' Additionally, there are errors with verb forms, such as 'I would like to requested you' (should be 'request') and 'difficulty to kept' (should be 'difficulty keeping'). Improving your control over verb tenses and infinitive structures will significantly enhance your accuracy.
