Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter covers all three bullet points: describing the problem, suggesting a solution, and requesting a visit. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a building manager. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat brief and could have been expanded with more detail regarding the impact of the cold or the history of the issue to better meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more developed response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized with a clear opening and closing. Paragraphing is present, though the body of the letter is quite short. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'in order to' and 'I would appreciate it if', which help the flow. However, the transition between the problem description and the request for a visit is somewhat abrupt. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could be improved by better linking the specific issue with the desired outcome to create a more cohesive narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'causing a inconvenience' (should be 'an inconvenience') and 'provide me prompt solution for same' (should be 'a prompt solution for the same'). The range is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise collocations and a wider variety of vocabulary related to maintenance and housing issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'My apartment number 615' (missing the verb 'is'), 'in this cold days' (should be 'these cold days'), and 'could looking into' (should be 'could look into'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to indicate a lack of control over complex structures. More attention to subject-verb agreement and prepositional usage is needed.
