Dear Manager,

I hope this email finds you well. The purpose of writting this email today is to make you aware from some repair work that urgently need your attention and need to fix as soon as possible to avoide major expenses and discomfort in future.

In our apartment AC is not working properly from last 2 days which causing huge trouble in my sleep routine. Although. I have tried to fix it by myself with the help of some tutorials available on youtube but it did not worked. Due to this issue I have to spent most of the time outside of my home to avoide suffocation and heat.

I believe there is a need for a repair work by a skilled technician without any further delays. I would really appriciate if you could send somebody to resolve this issue at your earliest convinience.

Furthermore, I request you to come and see the problem first to take any further decisions for repair work. Thank you for your attention into this matter.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You successfully cover all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You describe the problem clearly by mentioning that the air conditioner has not been working for the past two days and causing discomfort. You also express your opinion on what should be done by suggesting that a skilled technician should visit to fix it, and you explicitly ask the building manager to visit your apartment to see the issue firsthand. The tone is appropriately formal for a building manager, and the letter format is respected with the required opening. The purpose of the letter is immediately clear and fully sustained throughout the response, earning a solid Band 7.0 for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

Your letter has a clear overall progression and logical organisation. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate different ideas, such as introducing the problem, explaining your personal inconvenience and previous attempts to fix it, and finally making your requests. Cohesive devices are generally used appropriately, though there are occasional mechanical links like 'Furthermore' which are functional. Referencing is mostly clear, though some minor awkwardness in transitions exists. Overall, the ideas flow logically from the description of the problem to the call to action, meeting the criteria for a Band 6.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for a general correspondence task, including words like 'discomfort', 'suffocation', and 'technician'. However, there are several spelling and word-choice errors that slightly detract from the quality, such as 'writting' instead of writing, 'from' instead of of in 'aware from', 'avoide' instead of avoid, and 'appriciate' instead of appreciate. Furthermore, collocations like 'take any further decisions' are slightly unnatural. Despite these errors, communication is never impeded, placing your lexical performance comfortably at a Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional and dependent clauses ('Although I have tried to fix it...'). However, there are notable grammatical inaccuracies throughout the text, including tense and preposition errors like 'is not working properly from last 2 days' instead of 'for the last 2 days', and missing auxiliary verbs such as 'it did not worked'. Punctuation errors also occur, such as the incorrect full stop in 'Although. I have tried...'. The majority of sentences contain minor errors, meaning you demonstrate control of basic structures while struggling with complex ones, aligning with a Band 6.0.
