Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, meeting the core requirements successfully. You clearly described the problems regarding the contaminated water, electricity cuts, and lack of park lighting. Furthermore, you suggested practical solutions, such as hiring a plumber or contacting local authorities, and explicitly asked the building manager to visit the apartment. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed or repetitive, such as the discussion on elderly residents needing evening walks, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band level. To improve further, you should expand on your proposals with more specific details, ensuring every bullet point is fully explored with extended supporting points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter maintains a generally coherent overall arrangement, and the reader can easily follow the sequence of problems and suggested solutions. Paragraphing is used to separate the description of issues from the proposed solutions and the final call to action. Nevertheless, cohesion is at times mechanical or somewhat abrupt, particularly in the transition between the electricity cuts and the park lighting. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the loose connection of ideas in the second paragraph where sentences run together without adequate linking words. To achieve a higher band, you need to employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure smoother transitions between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday issues such as contaminated water, electricity cuts, and repairs. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word forms that constrain your score. For instance, 'memebrs' is misspelled, 'back to back' is informal for consecutive outages, and 'apartmtent' contains a typo. Additionally, phrases like 'take the estimate from him' could be expressed with more natural collocation. To reach a higher level, you should aim to incorporate less common lexical items with greater precision and eliminate basic spelling and word-form errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple clauses and run-on sentences joined by conjunctions. While you attempt some complex structures in your suggestions, they often feature faulty punctuation and missing capitalization, such as 'i am writing' and 'What i suggest... is ee can contact'. Frequent errors in articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement are present throughout the text, such as 'facing water problem' and 'old age people go for walk'. These errors do not entirely impede communication, but they occur frequently. To improve, you should focus on varying your sentence patterns accurately, using capital letters correctly, and mastering basic grammatical rules.
