Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the lift as the main problem and explain why it matters, mentioning older relatives and difficulty carrying luggage. You also ask for a worker and invite the manager to visit, so the key purpose is partly clear. However, the letter does not fully address the task: the request for water and the wedding invitation distract from the repair issue, and the proposed action is vague (“send the any woker for elevator”). You do not clearly ask the manager to come to your apartment and inspect the lift. Develop the repair request directly by stating when the lift stopped, asking for an inspection and repair, and specifying a suitable time for a visit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The letter has a recognisable opening, a main paragraph about the lift, and a closing, and the reader can follow the broad situation. However, the progression is difficult to track because several unrelated points are combined: the wedding invitation, water supply, lift repair, and payment. Connectors such as “however,” “additionally,” and “Finally” do not always show a clear relationship between ideas, while the long middle paragraph contains many points without clear breaks. Organise the letter into focused paragraphs: explain the lift problem and its effects, state the repair you want, then request a visit and close politely. This would make the message easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “elevator,” “immediate service,” “wedding,” and “luggage,” and the reader can generally infer your meaning. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices frequently make the message harder to understand, as in “writte,” “aprtments,” “lodding,” and “rexpons.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “touch witj you” and “pay fof extra money.” Use standard spelling and more precise collocations for a formal repair request. For example, say “the lift has been out of order” and “arrange for a technician to inspect and repair it.” Avoid adding vocabulary about water or the wedding unless it directly supports the repair request.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and time references, but sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make the message difficult to read. Examples include “I will writte to informe you,” “from last week flat lift was not working,” and “the marridge will three days long,” where verb forms, articles, and sentence construction are not controlled. Punctuation and spacing also make some sentences run together. Practise accurate basic patterns first: “I am writing to inform you that the lift in my building has not been working since last week.” Then add one clear sentence explaining the impact and another making the request. This will improve accuracy while allowing you to use more varied structures.
