Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that the kitchen tap and pipe are leaking and broken, describe the effect on household tasks, recommend replacing both parts, and ask the manager to inspect the problem. The request to visit is clear in “come and check the issue by yourself,” and the letter maintains a suitable purpose throughout. The details about dishes, cooking, and your children help explain why the repair matters. To make the response more fully developed, specify a practical next step, such as asking the manager to arrange a repair visit at a convenient time. A clearer, more formal opening and closing would also strengthen the letter’s presentation, but the main task is covered clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally coherent sequence: it introduces the repair issue, explains its impact, proposes a solution, and makes a request. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and phrases such as “In my opinion” and “As you know” signal relationships between ideas. However, some connections are awkward or unclear, particularly the long sentence beginning “As you know” and the final “so that” fragment, which is separated from the request it explains. The repeated use of “and” also makes some sentences feel crowded. Link the reason directly to the request and divide the explanation into shorter, clearly connected sentences to make progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the central problem and its consequences, with relevant terms such as “sink,” “tap,” “pipe,” “water dripping,” and “leaking.” You also use some appropriate phrases, including “creating a big trouble” and “kitchen chores,” although these are not always natural collocations. Noticeable spelling and word-choice errors—such as “reparing,” “appartments,” “alot,” and “tenat”—reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Some wording is repetitive, especially “trouble,” “issue,” and “problem.” Build a more precise range for repair requests, and check spelling and collocations carefully; for example, describe water as “spreading across the floor” and ask for the tap and pipe to be “replaced.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message remains understandable. However, several sentences contain grammatical errors or awkward structures. In “their is a issue,” the subject and article are incorrect; “which cause alot of trouble” also has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “As you know” combines several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries, while “so that I can do my kitchen chores properly” is a fragment because it is separated from the request it completes. Punctuation and capitalization are inconsistent, including the lowercase “i” and the comma after “you” in the opening. Use shorter complete sentences, check agreement and articles, and attach dependent clauses to the main sentence.
