Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main problem—water leaking from the ceiling during rainy weather—and explain that it is disrupting your apartment. You also request that a plumber or authorised person address it and ask the manager to arrange a visit, so the key points are present. However, the response is under the required 150 words, and the ideas are only briefly developed: for example, “water patches all over the floor” could be supported with details about damage, safety, or how long the leak has continued. The proposed action is also not fully clear, since “fix an appointment” does not specify whether you want the manager to inspect the apartment or simply arrange a repair. Develop these details and make the visit request explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The information follows a generally sensible order: you introduce the purpose, describe the leak and its effects, then request action and close the letter. Linking phrases such as “However” and “Due to this” help show relationships between ideas, and the reader can follow the main message. To make the organisation more effective, use clear paragraphing—for example, separate the problem from its consequences and your request. Some links are awkward or do not express the intended relationship clearly, such as “it look bad in case someone's visit.” A more direct transition into the request, followed by a specific invitation for the manager to inspect the apartment, would create smoother progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough relevant vocabulary to communicate the issue, including “water leakage,” “dripping,” “rainy season,” and “disruption.” These terms make the subject clear, and “water patches” gives a concrete indication of the effect. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “leakeage,” “continously,” and “roof top.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “draw your attention towards” and “fix an appointment” do not sound idiomatic in this context. Aim for accurate, natural collocations such as “bring the leak to your attention,” “arrange an inspection,” and “water stains on the floor.” This would make the letter more precise and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple sentences and a longer sentence explaining the leak’s effects, so there is some variety in structure. The main meaning remains understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to affect fluency. For example, “I am living here since march 2022” needs a present perfect form, while “I could not able to do anything” combines incompatible verb patterns. “It look bad” also has an agreement error, and several sentences begin with lowercase letters or run together without consistent punctuation. Practise accurate present perfect forms and modal constructions, and proofread each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
