Student answer (Band 6.5)

Children are sent to school at an early stage by some parents, while others prefer to wait for a few years, so that their kids get mature enough for schooling. There are numerous demerits of this trend, I believed these are overshadowed by its merits.

On the one hand, Preschooling can snatches the opportunity of enjoying the early stage of life from children, which is the most precious memory for all. As a result, children start to get irritated on the minor things as well as parents are unable to strengthen their bonds with their kids. Moreover, it directly impacts their academic performance, which leads their life towards dissatisfaction and insecurity regarding study. Unless students focus on their studies, they will get fail.

On the other hand, at the age of three or four years old, it is the best decision by parents to send their kids to school because they can start learning bbecause at that time individual have more grasp power to gain a lot of information and remember words easily and it helps them to be more creative at their early stage, Apart from it, students can easily learn about most of the basic skills that are essential to become a good person in life, such as, Communication skills, corporation, discipline, punctuality and time management as well. Pre-schooling not only helps individuals to get an early success in life but also helps to be an eligible for a good job position because most of the jobs placements require young people.

In conclusion, although it has lots of disadvantages, I believe that their advantage are more because early schooling can help students to gain a more knowledge and broaden their horizons of mind to explore a lot of information.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschooling as required. You have a clear position, stating that the merits outweigh the demerits. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The disadvantages section is quite brief and relies on general assertions, such as the claim that early schooling leads to 'dissatisfaction and insecurity,' which lacks specific supporting evidence. The advantages section is more detailed, covering cognitive and social benefits, though the final point regarding 'job placements' for young children is logically weak and slightly off-topic. To reach a higher band, ensure that all arguments are fully extended with concrete examples or logical explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by mechanical errors and awkward phrasing, such as the run-on sentence in the third paragraph starting with 'because at that time individual have more grasp power.' Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'demerits,' 'overshadowed,' and 'broaden their horizons.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'Preschooling can snatches the opportunity' (should be 'snatches' or 'robs') and 'individual have more grasp power' (should be 'grasping power' or 'cognitive capacity'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary lacks the precision required for higher bands. Focusing on accurate word forms and more natural collocations will significantly improve your score in this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Preschooling can snatches,' 'their advantage are more'), incorrect verb forms ('they will get fail'), and punctuation errors. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors that affect clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for moving into the 7.0 band.
