Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued that people are prioritizing the use of their personal transport which negatively affects our standard of living. It creates enormous pollution in the environment and become a huge expenditure for citizens.
Using personal car is expensive option than travelling on a public transport. People are using their own vehicle for daily commuting, which becomes a fixed expense for their budget. If the usage of car is more, fuel consumption would be more. Everyone need a personal vehicle even for short travel. For example, people are buying additional vehicles for their family members such as, two-wheeler is for travelling to college, another vehicle used for their household works. Therefore, unnecessary expenses add to their monthly budget, which make it difficult to save for their future uncertainties.
Moreover, air pollution is another detrimental factor for our health. Increasing traffic on roads affects the environment, and it also creates many health issues such as asthma, heart diseases, and breathing issues. Deforestation is common in metropolitan, carbon monoxide coming out of thier combustion may initiate severe health issues for people.
It is a negative trend because increasing traffic jams on roads become a concern for authorities. If more cars on roads, it becomes difficult for essential services such as police, ambulance, and fire extinguishers to travel, this congestion makes it hard for them to serve our community on time. Cases related to murder, fires, and patients' illnesses may become a serious issue for the government. Using public transport would be a better option for daily commuting instead of own vehicles.
To conclude, although using a private vehicle has numerous benefits, the use of buses, metros, and railways in a systematic manner may prevent possible health diseases and save some money in the citizens' pockets.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 2.0
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for a discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of sending children to preschool, but the essay focuses entirely on the environmental and economic impacts of private car ownership. Because the response fails to address the task requirements, it cannot be assessed for task achievement in relation to the prompt provided. In an actual exam, this would result in a very low score for Task Response as the content is irrelevant to the question asked.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically structured with clear paragraphing and the use of cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Therefore', and 'To conclude'. The ideas within the paragraphs follow a logical progression, and the text is easy to read. However, because the content is entirely unrelated to the prompt, the coherence is applied to an irrelevant topic. Within the context of the essay written, the flow of ideas is coherent, but it fails to serve the purpose of the assigned task.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, showing an attempt to use topic-specific language such as 'expenditure', 'detrimental', 'combustion', and 'congestion'. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'fire extinguishers' (which are objects, not the service vehicles themselves, which are 'fire engines'). Despite the off-topic nature of the content, the range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the writer's intended meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Using personal car is expensive option' (missing articles), 'Everyone need' (subject-verb agreement), and 'If more cars on roads' (missing verb). While these errors are noticeable, they do not significantly impede communication. The writer shows a reasonable command of English, though accuracy is inconsistent throughout the response.
