Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that some parents send their children to kindergarden for their personal growth at early stage of life, while opponents believe that it is better to wait for few years to ensure that they are ready to stay independent.

One of the prime pros of this is immense the sense of autonomy. People who choose to enrol their kids in learning institute, which can not only encourage them to work in a team with others but infants also become sole owner of themselves. Without getting the assistance from loved ones, they can easily commence their at intial stage. This allows them to connect with world at earliest stage. Moreover, if children work independently, it also helps to improve their body posture. When they do different activities such as, playing with balls, friends, and try to learn various activities, which initiates huge involvement of body. This movement keep them physically and mentally fit.

Converesly, sending an individual to primary school is another perspective, which may feel them uncomfortable. This is because after a long nourishment at their home, making them emotionally attached with their loved ones. This could be a shocked situation for them to indulge in new relations. For example, some infants often cry in intial days, and wait for their familiy member to come for pick-up after school finish. This kind of behaviour make them isolate and solitary. This may become difficult for them to cope up with new environment. Additionally, early stage of life often vulnerable their behaviour towards others. When new relationships come in their life, it would feel them uncomfortable because they were not familiar with surroundings. This often affects their learning.

To conclude, both opnions have their own merits and demerits. It is the responsibity of parents to think ahead for their future to familarise them at early stage or not

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument, discussing the advantages of preschool and the disadvantages of starting school early. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, the point about 'body posture' as a benefit of preschool is unclear and lacks logical connection to the topic. While the response covers the prompt, the arguments are occasionally superficial or confusingly expressed, such as the claim that infants become 'sole owner of themselves.' To reach a higher band, you should focus on providing more coherent, logical explanations for your points rather than listing loosely related benefits or drawbacks.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Moreover,' 'Conversely,' and 'Additionally.' However, the use of these markers is sometimes mechanical or slightly misused, which affects the flow. For example, the transition 'This is because after a long nourishment at their home' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the logical progression. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the intended meaning in some sentences. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother, more professional flow throughout the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'learning institute' instead of 'preschool' or 'nursery,' and 'sole owner of themselves' which is unnatural. Spelling errors like 'kindergarden,' 'intial,' 'Converesly,' and 'familarise' are present. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the frequency of word-choice errors limit the score. Focusing on learning topic-specific collocations and proofreading for spelling would significantly improve your lexical range and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'This kind of behaviour make them'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'vulnerable their behaviour'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not completely obscure the message, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that complex structures are used accurately to avoid these persistent errors.
