Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social skills and parental stress, the points are brief. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and lacks a summary of the main arguments. Furthermore, the response is 249 words, which is one word short of the 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length penalty, combined with the lack of depth in supporting examples, prevents a higher score. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum word count.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In addition'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. For instance, the transition in the second paragraph regarding 'poop training' is slightly informal and disrupts the academic tone. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'fundamental duty', 'instructive environment', and 'interactions'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'poop training' (which is informal), 'get relax' (should be 'relax'), and 'nursary' (spelling error). There is also a lack of precision in some areas, such as 'at a great extent' (should be 'to a great extent'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and double-check your spelling and common collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include 'Education plays a crucial role to be successful in the life' (should be 'in life'), 'others do to send' (should be 'others do not send'), and 'when they forcefully send' (should be 'when they are forcefully sent'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
