Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society, it is often argued by some parents that preschools are quite suitable for toddler between three or four years old, whereas others believe that they wait until their children are old enough for primary school. Although this notion has several benefits, it has also some drawbacks.
On the one side, one of the major benefits of the preschools is that children develop social skills. To explicate it, at early age preschool give them opporunities to communicate, play and share with others which boost their confidence. For instance, teacher introduce basic concepts such as numbers, colours and letter through enjoyable activities. Furthermore, it also prepare students for their future education. As a result, this they find easier to adjust in the new environment.
On the other hand, attending preschools at early age of students can have some disadvantages. Firstly, separation anxiety. In other words, some children are not accustomed to being away from their parents for long hours which leads to stress and they feel uncomfortable. Attending preschools children do not get much time to spend time with their family that leads to less connect with the family. At such emotional support and parents attention is significantly important for the overall development.
In conclusion, sending kids at preschools is beneficial because it contribute to social development, but it also reduce family time and stress them which impact their not only mental but also physical health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool, but the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social skills and future education as benefits, and separation anxiety as a drawback, these points are not fully extended with detailed examples or deeper analysis. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with more specific real-world examples and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one side,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'this they find easier' in the second paragraph. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that the transition between sentences is smoother and more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary society,' 'separation anxiety,' and 'overall development.' However, there are some word choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'toddler between three or four years old' (should be plural 'toddlers') and 'less connect with the family' (should be 'less connection'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. Try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and ensure grammatical accuracy when using new words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'preschool give them opporunities' (subject-verb agreement), 'teacher introduce' (should be 'teachers introduce'), and 'it also reduce family time' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are missing articles and prepositional errors throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and pluralization to improve your accuracy.
