Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern society, some parents send their children to preschools in their early age such as three or four year old while others believe that they should wait until their kids are old enough for primary school. However I considered that it has both merits and drawbacks due varied reasons.
on the one hand, one of the major benefit of sending toddler to preschool is develop social skills. To illustrate, preschools are allow them to get opporunity to interact, share and play with others which contributes to boost their confidence. For instance, when kids are join preschools at early, they feel less far from their parents and they can stay without them which is highly great for their future. Furthermore, independent is considered another factor. To explicate it, they can learn how to take small decision independently that leads to overall development. As a result, sending them at preschools could be great idea to develop their not only mental but also physical health.
On the other hand, Although it has some benefits, it offers a few demerits. Firstly, being separated from their parents can be emotionally challenging for children and may lead to increased stress and anxiety. For example, In many countries people send their kids to hostel at early age, they feel homesick and increase stress which would be major concern. Secondly, being far from parents can also reduce emotional support and bonding due to this, it can create some issue between them in future. Hence, as far i concerned, they should not completely relay on the preschools, they should take care of them.
In conclusion, joining preschools are at three or four year old , undoubtedly, could be beneficial in many ways such as it allows them to learn new skills , boost confidence and learn about share, but it create also stress and anxiety among them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool as required by the prompt. The position is clear from the introduction, and the main ideas—social development and independence versus emotional stress—are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding 'hostels' is not entirely relevant to the context of preschool-aged children, which weakens the logical support. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples and ensure that all supporting points directly relate to the specific age group mentioned in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To explicate it' or 'due to this, it can create some issue.' Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the final paragraph where the summary of points feels a bit repetitive. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt some topic-specific vocabulary like 'social skills,' 'emotional support,' and 'anxiety.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'sending toddler' (should be 'toddlers'), 'feel less far from their parents' (should be 'less separation anxiety'), and 'relay on' (should be 'rely on'). To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('preschools are allow them'), article misuse, and awkward phrasing ('as far i concerned'). These errors are noticeable and occur regularly, though they do not typically impede communication. To move to a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over basic grammar, particularly with verb tenses and pluralization, and aim for more error-free complex sentences.
