Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are multiple view about sending children to the preschool at very young age while other parents wait to children to get old enough for primary school before they start there school life. Today i will talk about both advantage and disadvantage in this essay and will share my view on this topic.

To begin with advantages, I believe that when the children age arround three or four years, that is the type of time in which learning abilities in them are very fast. They adapt everything so quickly and become sharp as compare to other children. Secondly, Starting a preschool life help to save children from phone addiction instead of wasting time at that age point effect the vision. They prefer to play actual game and actual actitives in classroom instead of wasting there precious time on phone.

On the another side, Children who start there preschool at a very young age lost there bonding with there grandparents. They spend most of the time in school learning thing as compare to playing with grandparents, grand parents loves play is vital role in children growth that they miss while learning new thing in school at a very young age.

I believe that sending children to preschool at a very young age is very usefull in longrun. Those children start adapting thing easly as compare to other childrens. For instance, According to a research conducted by UOT that children who start there school life at a very young age perform more perfectly in schoo compitations as compare to others.

In conclusion, I believe even through there are some disadvantage of children to send them school at a young age but for long run advantage we cant unseen the benifits of of this side.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool as requested. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'phone addiction' is a relevant point, but it is not fully explored or linked clearly to the broader educational context. The discussion on the loss of bonding with grandparents is a good point, but it lacks specific examples or depth. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting evidence, such as the mention of 'UOT research', is vague and lacks detail. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more concrete explanations and logical reasoning to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Secondly', 'On the another side'). There are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the transition into the conclusion. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression of ideas could be smoother. While the essay is coherent overall, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional awkward phrasing hinder the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'arround', 'actitives', 'usefull', 'compitations', 'benifits') and word choice issues (e.g., 'perform more perfectly', 'unseen the benifits'). The language is somewhat repetitive, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and expanding your vocabulary to include more precise collocations related to education and child development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'children age arround', 'grand parents loves play'), article usage (e.g., 'to the preschool'), and sentence construction (e.g., 'there are some disadvantage of children to send them school'). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors and refining sentence structure will be beneficial.
