Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's generation, parents think a lot about their children's education at an early stage. They want their child to develop essential life skills such as discipline, independence and punctuality at a very young age. While some may agree to this notion, others might think that children should wait until they are old enough for primary school. There are various advantages and disadvantages of sending children to preschool which will be discussed in detail.
One advantage of sending your child to a preschool when they are three or four years old is that they get a habit of learning something new at a very young age. For instance, they get to interact with other kids and learn how to make friends with them. Additionally, a child who starts school early in their life is much more responsive and active as compared to someone who waits until they are old enough to join a primary school.
On the other hand, sending your child to preschool carries a lot of problems. Unfortunately, if a child joins goes to school, they may feel detached from their parents as the majority of their time will be spent in school. Furthermore, during childhood, the only thing that a child should indulge in is playing all day long. If they are sent to school, they may be burdened with homework and may feel stressed all time that could lead to trauma at a very young age.
To conclude, my personal view point on this issue is that children should enjoy their childhood with time dedicated to playing or enjoying rather than completing school work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool as requested. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social interaction as an advantage, the discussion of disadvantages—specifically the claim that preschool leads to 'trauma'—is an over-generalization that lacks sufficient supporting evidence or nuance. The conclusion introduces a personal viewpoint that was not clearly integrated into the body paragraphs, making the overall argument feel slightly disjointed. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with logical reasoning and concrete examples rather than relying on broad assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. You use some cohesive devices such as 'One advantage', 'Additionally', and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader. However, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is a bit mechanical. Furthermore, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for instance, the phrase 'if a child joins goes to school' contains a grammatical slip that disrupts the flow. The progression of ideas is logical, but the connection between the final conclusion and the preceding arguments could be more cohesive to provide a stronger sense of closure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'discipline', 'independence', and 'punctuality'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly unnatural word choices, such as 'indulge in is playing' or 'stressed all time'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and less common lexical items to express your ideas with greater sophistication and variety.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'if a child joins goes to school' (a redundant verb phrase) and 'stressed all time' (missing the preposition 'the'). Punctuation is generally correct, but some sentences could be refined for better clarity. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of minor errors is noticeable. To improve, focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without unnecessary word repetition.
