Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some gurdians send their children preschool at a early age while other parents wait to get them old enough for primary school. I will discuss both the pros and cons of sending children to preschool in the upcoming paragraphs.

There are several advantages of sending children to preschool, firstly ,they learn teamwork at a young age because in schools they have to sit with other children and have to tasks with them. Secondly, they will learn basic manners very quickly at childcare schools. Although, parents have hectic routines they do not get enough time to tech their childrens the basic things. For instance, how to respect others, how to greet others. So when children go to preschool they would do better in their future. It is also crucial for their overall growth as with academic they also take parts in other curriculum activities. For example, my cousin who send preschool at age of 4 finds his interest in acadamics now he is an engeneer.

On the other hand, there are few disadvantages of sending children preschool at early age. Sometimes, children feels homesickness as they are spending more time at school then their home. They miss their parents love and care. In this case, children also feels burden because at this age instead of playing in playgrounds they study in preschools. However, they do not get enough time to play as soon as they get to home they have to them complete their homework it makes them stressful and angry somtimes.

In conclusion, sending children to preschool at early age makes them better person in life as they get enough patenice at early age ,however it has disadvantge of making them angry which can be handled by proper gudience of parents.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool as required by the prompt. The position is clear throughout, and the main ideas—such as social development and academic preparation versus homesickness and stress—are relevant. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the argument regarding stress is a bit repetitive, and the example of the cousin is slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed explanations or more nuanced examples, ensuring that the discussion remains balanced and fully explored.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices like 'firstly', 'secondly', 'on the other hand', and 'in conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the benefits of manners and the mention of hectic parental routines. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'curriculum activities' and 'academic'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'gurdians', 'tech', 'childrens', 'acadamics', 'engeneer', 'patenice', and 'gudience'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, you should focus on proofreading your work for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate a wider range of less common vocabulary to demonstrate more flexibility and precision in your word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive start. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('children feels', 'children also feels'), article usage ('at a early age'), and sentence construction ('my cousin who send preschool'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the essay. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and prepositions, will help you achieve a higher score.
