Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is ongoing debate where, one section of society believes that kids should start their learning at early age but opposite section disagree with them. However, In my notion, schooling in early age has more benefits than starting at later years.

The fist and foremost reason starting schooling at early years of child is development of learning skills. To explain this, children has fresh mind in beginning years, they grab knowledge very quickly and makes their base very strong just because they are fresh mind has ability to memorize and due to this their learning capability becomes strong from starting of schooling. Moreover, social skills and independence can be seen in early age of their life as they start doing socializing with other students and do their own works, which is important for shaping the personality for future. Thus, kids should begin their coaching in the age of three or four.

On the contrary, negative impact of early education can neglected such as less childhood time. students become busy in school life in very early years of life. They may not get enough time for family and play which is very important at this stage to make strong bonding with family members. So, early age education makes stressed with study and less bonding with parents.

To recapitulate, no doubt schooling at early age has some negative effects, however, benefits like learning power, social skills independency , which are important for career make the personality from initial years cannot be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool education. The position is clear from the introduction, and the main ideas—such as cognitive development and social skills for advantages, and loss of childhood/family time for disadvantages—are relevant. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'fresh minds' is repetitive and lacks specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete scenarios, ensuring that the discussion remains balanced and fully explored throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the contrary', and 'To recapitulate' to guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. For example, the transition between the benefits of social skills and the conclusion is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') is precise would help the ideas progress more smoothly and logically throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'strong', and 'make'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'coaching' instead of 'schooling' or 'education', and 'do their own works' instead of 'perform tasks independently'. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and academic synonyms to enhance the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'at early age'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'children has fresh mind'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'can neglected' instead of 'cannot be neglected'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small grammatical slips would lead to significant improvement.
