Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits like 'basic manners' and 'punctuality', the explanation remains superficial. The example regarding the Indian government is vague and lacks specific detail to support the argument effectively. Similarly, the disadvantage regarding 'relation gap' is a relevant point, but the explanation is hampered by unclear phrasing, making it difficult to fully grasp the depth of the argument. To improve, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear, logical explanation and a more concrete, well-integrated example.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To commence with' and 'To conclusion' are used, but the latter is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with referencing; in the second paragraph, the transition between ideas feels abrupt. The flow of the argument is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Relation gap taken place', which makes the logical progression feel disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring clear transitions between sentences will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'best time' and 'catch up the things'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'relation gap taken place' and 'pull their little ones to pre school'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic vocabulary and collocations that are natural in an IELTS context, rather than relying on simple, repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('the children started their preschool', 'little ones has sharp memory'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence construction ('In the modern times', 'unpredictably, it results in the relation distance'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation detract from the overall quality of the writing. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
