Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is often argued by parents about the perfect age to introduce a toddler to a schooling environment. Some parents prefer to enroll their young ones in preschools when they are three or four years old, while other parents criticise the concept of preschools and prefer to send their kids directly to primary schools. In the upcoming essay, I will discuss both positives and negatives of enrolling the young ones in kindergartens.
To commence with, the most significant advantage of sending kids to preschools is that they will develop learning skills and social habits early in their lives. Preschools engage kids in fun learning activities to introduce them with different subjects such as English, science, and maths. Participation in such an environment boosts their cognitive skills. Moreover, preschools are designed to make kids comfortable with other peer kids by involving them in multiple competitions such as drawing, writing, and art. Consequently, this will teach kids how to behave in a social space. For instance, it is noticed that the students who have attended preschools perform better not only in academics but also in their professional career.
On the other side, there are also a few demerits associated with playway institutes such as emotional pressure because of long-hour separation and causes financial burden on guardians. This separation can lead to anxiety, stress, or behavioral issues, particularly among children who require additional emotional support. Additionally, high-quality preschool programs can be expensive, making them inaccessible for many families. Consequently, parents may experience financial stress while trying to provide early education, even though toddlers can get foundational education at home by playing interactive games and watching children's educational content.
To sum up, preschools can develop learning habits and teach kids multiple essential life-skills, whereas, it not only causes emotional issues among kids but also a financial stress on parents. Although, early phase of the learning can be done conveniently at home.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of preschool education. The position is clear throughout, and the ideas are extended with relevant examples and explanations, such as the mention of cognitive development versus the financial burden on parents. The development is logical and sufficient for the task requirements. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific, real-world examples rather than general statements, such as referencing a specific type of play-based curriculum or a common societal trend in your home country to further substantiate your arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use a range of cohesive devices effectively, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', 'Consequently', and 'On the other side'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the advantages from the disadvantages. The flow is generally smooth, although some transitions could be more sophisticated to avoid a slightly mechanical feel. Overall, the structure is clear and supports the development of your argument well.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision. Phrases like 'foundational education', 'cognitive skills', and 'behavioral issues' are used accurately. There are some minor issues with collocation, such as 'peer kids' (which is redundant; 'peers' is sufficient) and 'playway institutes' (which is not standard English). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating more sophisticated, less common lexical items would elevate the score. The errors present do not impede communication, and the tone remains appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. You show good control over grammar, and most of your sentences are error-free. There are occasional slips, such as 'introduce them with' (should be 'introduce them to') and 'causes financial burden' (missing a subject or needing a different structure, e.g., 'it causes a financial burden'). Punctuation is generally accurate, and the complex structures used, such as conditional-like clauses and relative clauses, are handled well. The errors present are infrequent and do not cause any difficulty for the reader.
