Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some parents send their children to preschool because they think that their children's learn something from school as compared to home but some parents don't do this because they think that their children's learn at home and they are still very small and can't go to school.but I think both parents are right because if parents send their children to preschool children learn how to sit in class room they participate in small activities.children learn how to manage their time they know that they go to school and teachers check their works so they tried to manage their time at the age of childhood and in future they are ready for school.but in case of other parents wait until their children are old enough for primary school before they send them school.they think that they teach their children at home.according to my point of view preschool going children are much better then as compared to late going to school.its depends on their parents because everyone has its own choice.preschool going children are tired when they reached at home . mostly parents not send their children to preschool because they think that their children are tired.its not important that preschool going children are more successful as compared to those children who are not going to preschool.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the issue, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 215 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you mention benefits like time management and classroom behavior, these points are not fully extended or supported with specific examples. The conclusion is brief and lacks a clear summary of the main arguments. To improve, you must expand your paragraphs with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. The text is presented as a single block, and there is a lack of effective cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas. Transitions such as 'but', 'because', and 'according to' are used repetitively and sometimes incorrectly, leading to a mechanical flow. To achieve a higher score, you should organize your essay into distinct paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and use a wider variety of linking words to create a more logical and smooth transition between your points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic words like 'children', 'school', and 'parents'. There is little evidence of less common or academic vocabulary. Phrases such as 'preschool going children' are used repeatedly, which indicates a lack of lexical variety. Furthermore, there are errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'late going to school' and 'everyone has its own choice'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and academic collocations related to education and child development to demonstrate a broader range of language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with punctuation, such as missing capital letters at the start of sentences and improper use of periods. Sentence structure is often simplistic or run-on, with many clauses joined incorrectly by 'but' or 'because'. Subject-verb agreement is also problematic, for example, 'children's learn' and 'parents not send'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing correct punctuation, especially the use of full stops to separate independent thoughts.
