Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays many guardians send their offspring to preschool before the primary school. Some others wait until their children to be old enough to send them directly to the primary school. This essay discuss about the pros and cons of sending children to the preschool in young age as well as my opinion regarding this topic with some examples.
To begin with, the children who goes to the preschool in their young age will get adapted to the school environment and culture quickly. Moreover, they become more independent to do the activities of their daily life ,for instance, putting on the shoes and jackets, potty training as well as eating by themselves. In addition, we are living in a fast - paced world. Hence, both the parents will be working, in this scenario sending kids to the preschool will help the parents to work peacefully and to focus on their job.
On other hand, the child is spending most on the time at the preschool. This will have a significant detrimental impact on the parent - child relationship. The parents are not spending quality time with the children . This may reduce the bonding as well as their communication
I personally believe the children should sent to the preschool in their young age itself because it is the foundation to become a good individual.furthermore, it enable them to get comfortable when they starts the primary schooling. For example, a kid who speaks mother tongue will learn how to handle foreign language from their preschool by interacting with the peer group as well as with the teacher. This enhances the learning abilities in the primary school.
To recapitulate, sending offspring to preschool in younger ages have merits as well as demerits. However, the advantages of this practice outweigh the disadvantages. The cons can be mitigated by the parents by taking little extra effort to spend quality time with their children.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both advantages and disadvantages of preschool. A clear position is established in the introduction and maintained throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as social adaptation and independence for advantages, and the impact on parent-child bonding for disadvantages. However, some points are slightly under-developed; for instance, the argument regarding the 'fast-paced world' could be more explicitly linked to the necessity of preschool. Overall, the response is well-structured and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'On other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, there are some minor issues with cohesion, such as the slightly abrupt transition between the second and third paragraphs. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes a bit mechanical, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. The student uses some topic-specific terms like 'preschool', 'primary schooling', and 'peer group'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'offspring' (which is often too formal or biological in this context) and 'in their young age itself'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning clearly, there is a lack of more sophisticated or idiomatic collocations that would elevate the score. Spelling is generally accurate, and the vocabulary used does not impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the children who goes', 'it enable them', 'when they starts') and missing articles ('to the preschool'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some spacing issues around commas. While these errors are noticeable, they do not significantly impede the reader's understanding. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent use of articles.
